Common questions

How do I cancel Shinobu Pro?

Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Shinobu and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.

Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. Cancel it in Settings.

Can I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Sign in, find Shinobu and choose “Request a refund”.

I bought Pro but it isn’t showing

Open the Pro screen in the app (for example from Profile → Shinobu Pro) and tap Restore at the bottom. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it. If it still doesn’t show, email us.

My reminders aren’t showing up

Check that notifications are on for Shinobu in your iPhone’s Settings → Notifications → Shinobu, and that a Focus mode isn’t silencing them. Then open the habit in Shinobu and check its reminder times.

How do I add the widget?

Touch and hold an empty spot on your Lock Screen, tap Customize, then tap the widget area and choose Shinobu. It shows your day count at a glance.

I missed a day. Did I lose my count?

No. Your Day count and your rank are based on the total number of full days you’ve trained, so a missed day never takes them away. Ranks never go down. Only your streak (days in a row) starts over, and rest days can protect it.

Where is my data? Can I move it to a new phone?

Shinobu has no account, so your data is stored on your iPhone, not on our servers. It moves to a new iPhone when you restore from an iCloud or computer backup, or use Quick Start to transfer your data.

You can also export it from Profile → Export my data. Deleting the app deletes its data, and we can’t recover it for you.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, open Profile and tap Delete all data. You can export it first if you want a copy. Deleting the app removes everything too.

If you’re going through something hard

Shinobu isn’t a crisis service, but you don’t have to carry it alone. Talking to someone helps.
